When it comes to Gran Canaria weather it’s not all sunshine and sunburn. Well, it can be. But did you know that the island of Gran Canaria also has the occasional flurry of snow, cloud formations called ‘donkey’s belly’ and even sandstorms?

Don’t let this put you off, if you are travelling to the sunny resorts of Puerto Rico, Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas then you probably won’t experience snow
in Gran Canaria or hailstones but you may see what locals call a calima or an extreme heatwave where temperatures can reach 40ÂșC degrees otherwise known as Summer.
